A .pdf file to make 26 picture cards, 26 word cards and 26 labelled picture cards of various land and water features:

arch, bay, beach, canal, cave, cliff, cove, sand dune, estuary, iceberg, island, isthmus, mountain, stack, stream, swamp, lake, strait, archipelago, system of lakes, peninsula, gulf, cape, atoll, valley and waterfall.

The labelled picture cards are presented to the child and the features are named and discussed. Children match the picture cards and then the word cards to the first row of cards. A three period lesson can be given to teach the terminology if appropriate.

Why not add the images from the continents physical features .pdf file for even more to discuss.

The picture shows a selection of the cards as a suggestion of how to prepare them.
