This set is used to teach the child the component parts of a volcano, the appropriate terminology and the definitions of these parts.

The labelled picture cards are presented to the child and the component parts are named and the definitions given orally. Children match the picture cards and then the word cards to the first row of cards. Children able to read can also match the definition cards. A three period lesson can be given to teach the terminology if appropriate.
